Accessing User and Admin view

Need to access a Learning Journey assigned to you and then go back to some OpX admin tasks? See our how-to guide below:

User View

User View is a valuable feature on the OpX platform that allows you to experience and navigate the platform from the perspective of a standard user as an admin. By switching to User View, you gain insights into how users interact with the platform, their available functionalities and the overall user experience. This article will guide you on how to access User View and highlight the key differences between User View and Admin View.

Accessing User View:

  1. Click on your Profile Picture:
In the top-right corner of the OpX platform, you will find your profile picture or avatar. Click on it to open a dropdown menu.

  2. Select "Switch to User View":
Within the dropdown menu, you will see an option labelled "Switch to User View." Click on this option to switch from Admin View to User View.

To return to Admin view, repeat the above process from the User view.

Understanding the Differences:

Switching to User View provides you with a different interface and set of functionalities compared to Admin View. Here are the key differences to keep in mind:

  1. Available Features: In User View, you will have access to a set of learning journeys, Projects, and modules that have been assigned to you. You can view your progress, complete modules, and engage with the learning content provided.

  2. Limited Administrative Capabilities: Unlike in Admin View, you will have restricted administrative functionalities in User View. You will not be able to create or modify learning journeys, Projects, or other platform elements. User View is primarily focused on the learning experience rather than administrative tasks.

  3. Navigation and Interface: The user interface in User View is tailored to focus on learning and participation. The navigation menu and options may be simplified compared to Admin View, ensuring a streamlined experience for users.

  4. Personalized Learning Content: User View allows you to access learning journeys and modules that are specifically assigned to you or available for self-enrollment. The content is curated to meet your individual learning needs and objectives.

  5. Progress Tracking and Reporting: In User View, you can monitor your progress within learning journeys. Progress tracking tools and visual indicators are provided to help you stay on top of your learning journey.

  6. Limited Administrative Controls: As a user, you won't have the ability to manage or assign roles to other users, access reports and analytics, or perform administrative tasks. These functionalities are reserved for Admin View.

Switching between User View and Admin View allows you to gain a comprehensive understanding of the platform from different perspectives. This dual view capability empowers you to optimise the learning experience for users while also effectively managing the platform's administrative aspects.

By leveraging User View, you can immerse yourself in the user journey, evaluate the accessibility and usability of the platform, and ensure a seamless learning experience for all participants.
