Creating a Project from a Template
Want to create an OpX Project from a template? Read our how-to guide below:
To create a Project from an existing template, follow these steps:
Step 1: Access the Project Page
Navigate to the Project page on the OpX platform. This is where you can manage and create Projects.
Step 2: Click on "Add Project"
On the Project page, locate the "Add Project" button and click on it. This will initiate the process of creating a new Project.
Step 3: Select Template Creation Option
In the creation options, choose the dropdown titled "Do you want to create a new Project from an existing Project Template?" and select "Yes." This indicates that you want to create a Project from a pre-existing template.
Step 4: Choose Template and Provide Details
Select the template you wish to use from the available options. Give your Project a name and click "Create." The Project you've just made will be a replica of the template, with all details already filled in.
Step 5: Customize the Project
Review the Project and make any necessary changes and updates. This includes adding, removing, or swapping phases, content, key outputs, or checkpoint questions to align with your specific requirements. Take the time to ensure the Project reflects your desired goals and objectives.
Step 6: Submit for Approval
Once you're satisfied with the changes and edits, click on "Options" and select "Submit for Approval." If you don't require someone to review the Project, you can choose "No Approval Needed."
Step 7: Launch the Project
After approval, the Project will be available in the library. Locate your Project in the library and click on "Create Live Project," then assign participants, a lead, a sponsor, and set the start and end dates for the Project and its phases. Select "Launch."
Step 8: Customize Participants and Dates
If needed, you can continue adding participants, sponsors, stakeholders, and leads to the Project even after it has been launched. Additionally, you can edit the dates to accommodate any changes or adjustments.
By following these steps, you can easily create a Project from an existing template on the OpX platform. Utilizing templates saves time and provides a structured framework for your Project. Customize the Project to meet your specific needs and ensure that it aligns with your objectives. Regularly review and update the Project as necessary to ensure its effectiveness in driving the desired outcomes.
